Our Biographies

Susan Novy founded Northeast Massage Therapy, located in Concord, North Carolina, in the fall of 2000. In the fall of 2007 she changed the name to BranchView Body Therapy. She is Nationally Certified and a Licensed Massage and Bodywork Therapist in the state of North Carolina.

As a child, Susan remembers sitting at the side of her blind great-grandmother while massaging her frail hands and later being paid a quarter to massage the shoulders of her father’s bowling team. “At $1.25 an evening, it was enough to play 25 songs on the juke box!” She took her first massage course in the early 80’s and continued to learn alternative healing modalities while working in the corporate environment. Her resume includes international corporations where she’s held positions as a Corporate Meeting Planner, Business Development Specialist and Regional Marketing Manager. After 15 years in corporate America Susan followed her heart and became a licensed massage therapist in July of 2000. She graduated from Blue Ridge Healing Arts Academy. With the entrepreneurial skills that came naturally as a young girl she has created one of the busiest massage centers in Concord, North Carolina. In 2002 she combined her passion for her bodywork, art, and traveling to provide massage therapy for the entertainment industry.

Susan is trained in Swedish Massage, Deep Tissue Massage, Acupressure, Ashiatsu, Prenatal/Pregnancy Massage, Infant Massage, Reiki and Cranio-sacral Therapy. She continues to take continuing education courses to offer her clients the most beneficial techniques in therapeutic bodywork.

A Washington, DC native Susan has lived in Vermont, Maine, Massachusetts, Indiana and Florida. She moved to North Carolina in 1997 from Montreal, PQ, Canada. She attended Indiana University and Vermont College. Her passions include writing, a wide variety of music, yoga, traveling, seeking spiritual enlightenment and a challenging game of scrabble!

Rayann Norris has been a true gift to our practice. She has an open heart with an intuitive touch that allows her clients an enhanced benefit to therapeutic massage. She has been a full time therapist since July of 2001. She graduated from Blue Ridge Healing Arts Academy in Concord and maintains her National Certification and North Carolina State License in Massage and Bodywork. She has been a valued asset to our practice since February 2004.

Before Rayann found her home in massage therapy she studied nursing. Though she enjoyed the endless opportunities nursing provided she was drawn to the relaxed environment and long term benefits of massage therapy.

Rayann was obviously born with a strong desire to help others. She has always sought to improve the life of those around her and chose a career in massage for just this purpose. When your body and mind feel good, your whole life seems better.

In addition to Deep Tissue, Swedish and Muscle Release Technique, Rayann is a Reiki Master and is passionate about Reiki and the way it encourages energy to flow properly through the body.
